Glastonbury and Me!

ree

I have just got back from the most amazing long weekend at Glastonbury. It was my first visit and I was camping on a lovely small site at the base of Glastonbury Tor. Doing my morning yin yoga with that magical view was a perfect start to each day.

The main reason for booking the trip was to attend a small gathering of just 25 other Reiki practitioners (including my lovely friend Karen from Reiki with Karen) which was hosted by William Rand. It is not overstating it to say that he is a legend in the Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki world as it was he who first developed this system of Reiki back in 2014. He began the session by speaking about his life and how his journey into the world of Reiki began and how he was given the upgrades which allowed him to develop Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki. He has led an extraordinary life and despite all he has experienced and the people he has met along his journey, he is the most humble and gentle man. I was a little worried that I would be overawed by being in the same space as him, but actually he was so welcoming and funny that I needn't have worried.

After his talk he guided the group into a meditation (ignition) and healing experience. His way of speaking and the background music, all added to the journey I was then floating away on and my own personal experience was profound. The healing I had set the intention for was achieved and even though I am a total believer in Reiki (obviously!!), I was mind-blown by the result. The extra special part about this whole day with William is that the ignition has given my Reiki a boost and I can feel the energy more strongly than before. I can't wait for you to experience it for yourself.

As well as climbing the Tor (oh boy that was a huge challenge for me as I don't like heights and it was way worse than I expected...) and enjoying a glorious sunset, I had a walk around Glastonbury Abbey ruins and gardens - you can feel the centuries of history there; I visited the Chalice Well which actually rendered me speechless due to the strong but gentle energy of the ancestors who have held ceremonies there and taken the waters (so pure but very metallic due to the high iron content); then another profoundly healing experience at the Unbound ceremony at Glastonbury Town Hall led by Rebecca Campbell (think mystic, author, oracle cards etc.). This event led us into a deep healing of the ancestral mother line and many of us connected with very distant ancestral grandmothers.

All in all a very healing and rejuvenating weekend and one that will live in my memory forever. A decision has been made too... William Rand is still teaching and next year I am going to take my Master level with him. I am so excited to be able to take the opportunity to work with him and further my own Reiki journey with him, back in Glastonbury.

Glastonbury is such a magical, special place and I feel a strong connection to the land and the waters there. I wonder if my ancestors have trodden the paths that I trod this last few days..... I think they just might have.
